It all started with the decline of intellectual content in daily newspapers, circa 1995 or so. The L-P, for instance, doesn’t even know who it markets itself to. Blue-collar conservative-populists? Civil servants? High school dropouts? Farmers? Social-populists? (Not quite.)
People in journalism, first and foremost, need to lose the adjectives. Not only are they are a form of editorialization, but they make things too wordy and are a sign of weakness/immaturity.

I completely agree about the social media marketing madness. It is overly hyped and don’t understand many marketers.
Very soon only marketers will be in the social media space listening to other marketers!
